Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Michael DeJesus reached AA. He is the brother of major leaguer David DeJesus. He was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the fifteenth round of the 2005 amateur draft and played four years in their organization. He hit .234/.395/.305 with 40 walks in 53 games for the '05 Billings Mustangs. He led Pioneer League second basemen with a .978 fielding percentage and was two walks shy of league leader Bryan Byrne.

In 2006, DeJesus batted .246/.343/.305 with 11 steals in 15 tries for the Dayton Dragons. Mike hit .261/.380/.329 with 78 walks and 76 runs for the 2007 Sarasota Reds. He led all Reds farmhands in walks and was 7 shy of the Florida State League lead.

DeJesus split 2008 between Sarasota (.246/.317/.317 in 42 G) and the Chattanooga Lookouts (.270/.383/.354 in 67 G).

In 2009, he was with the New Jersey Jackals of the independent Canadian-American Association and hit .297/.378/.398. He was named the league's All-Star shortstop.
