Biographical Information[edit]
Mel Bosser pitched for the Thomasville Tourists of the Class D Georgia-Florida League in 1939 and 1940 and with the Selma Cloverleafs of the Class B Southeastern League in 1941. He then went into the Air Force and was given a medical discharge as a Corporal in time to pitch 16 innings in 7 games, fashioning a 2-0, 3.38 record but a terrifying 17 walks to 3 strikeouts for the Cincinnati Reds in 1945. He caught on with the Syracuse Chiefs of the AAA International League the following year, kicking around until 1952.
