McRemer
- Bats Unknown, Throws Unknown
Biographical Information[edit]
On June 20, 1884, a man named McRemer or McRemur appears in the boxscore with the Washington Nationals of the Union Association as an outfielder. As the name is very unusual and no one who fits it has been found through census records, it is possible that there was typographical error of some sort and that the player's name was in fact M. Cremer or M. Remer. It could also have been Icicle Reeder, who made his debut with Washington four days later, or Frank McKee, whose time with the club lasted from June 11th to July 3rd. The entire roster is composed of obscure players, including a third possibility, Mark Creegan, who was with the club earlier in the season. This player's identity is thus a mystery.
