Biographical Information[edit]

Mainor Mora has pitched for the Nicaraguan national team. In the Nicaraguan amateur league, he has been with the Tiburones de Granada.

Mora pitched in the 2011 Baseball World Cup, leading Nicaragua with a 2.57 ERA. He allowed only one hit in 7 innings and had the lowest opponent average (.045) in the tourney, less then half runner-up Julio Rodriguez's .097. He tossed 1 2/3 shutout innings against Venezuela and 3 shutout innings in a 4-3 Nicaraguan loss to Australia. He gave up 2 runs in 2 1/3 IP versus Cuba. He helped Nicaragua to a Gold in the 2013 Central American Games.

Back with Nicaragua for the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, the lefty reversed course and had his team's highest ERA. In his lone outing, he relieved Danilo Álvarez in the 8th with a 6-1 deficit against Colombia. He walked Luis Martinez and retired Giovanny Urshela, then was replaced by Uber Paz, who let the inherited runner score to give Mora a somewhat-undeserved 27.00 ERA.
