2013 Central American Games
The 2013 Central American Games were held in San Jose, Costa Rica in March 2013. For the first time, six nations competed in baseball.
Nicaragua avenged their 2010 loss to rival Panama, beating them twice, including 6-5 in the Gold Medal Game. Dwight Britton hit .706 to join his father as having led the Central American Games in average in different years, while Moisés Flores hit .700 and slugged a leading 1.500. Britton and Jilton Calderón each homered twice to tie for the lead. Calderón scored the winning run in the finale, driven in by Ofilio Castro. Gustavo Martínez got the win in the championship game.
Panama got the Silver and El Salvador their first Bronze in 12 years.
