Biographical Information[edit]

Max Jung-Goldberg has been on the Swiss national team. He is the brother of Hayden Jung-Goldberg. [1]

He set his high school record for hits (Palo Alto had produced at least four major league position players to that point, including Joc Pederson). [2] He hit .229/.365/.243 as a freshman at San Diego, .263/.417/.368 as a sophomore, .250/.357/.361 as a junior and .184/.403/.286 as a senior. As a graduate transfer, he batted .408/.549/.735 with 52 RBI and 51 runs in 43 games at Hope International, drawing 37 walks.

When Switzerland made their first European Championship in 2023, he was the starting third baseman and #2 batter. He struck out his first time up, versus Israel's Itai Spinoza. His first hit was off Belgium's Kevin Desmedt, a single. He finished at .261/.393/.304 with 3 runs in 6 games, fielding .895. He was plunked three times, tying Achielleas Karaiskos, Robel García and Miguel López for the tourney lead. [3]
