Biographical Information

Maury Uhler only played in the majors for part of one year, in 1914, but he was a busy guy. He played 36 games in the outfield, was a pinch-runner 12 times, and a pinch-hitter four times. He wasn't much of a hitter, with a .214 batting average, but clearly he provided value as a defensive fielder and runner. At age 27, he was a year younger than Cincinnati Reds player-manager Buck Herzog. He spent most of the season with the Minneapolis Millers.

He died in 1918. His death certificate at TheDeadballEra.com states he died of tuberculosis.
