Mauricio Gonzalez was a minor league infielder and manager.
Gonzalez was in the Dominican Summer League in 1990 and 1991. He played for the 1992 AZL Rockies/Cubs (.345/.374/.439) and Bend Rockies (2 for 18). He was second in the Arizona League in average, behind Brian Rupp. In 1993, he hit .281/.333/.361 as a utility infielder for the Central Valley Rockies. With Central Valley in '94, Mauricio batted .257/.289/.341 as a regular at second base. His batting line for the 1995 New Haven Ravens was .268/.302/.335. Mauricio wrapped up his minor league career in 1996 with the Columbus Red Stixx (.242/.253/.316) and Bakersfield Blaze (.278/.301/.380). He then played in Taiwan and Italy. He was 4 for 16 for the '97 Chinatrust Whales. In 1998, he batted a whopping .396/.432/.604 with 46 runs and 53 RBI in 45 games for Nettuno. He fielded .942 at shortstop. He was still well back of batting champion Federico Bassi's .477. In the finals, he was 6 for 21 with 3 doubles, a homer and two walks as the team won it all. In 1999, he fell to .330/.360/.427 while fielding .955 at SS; he still led Nettuno in OPS, just ahead of veteran catcher Marco Barboni. In the 1999 Italian Series, he was 9 for 29 with a walk as Nettuno lost to Rimini. In both the 1998 and 1999 finals, he played error-free ball.
Gonzalez managed the DSL Rockies in 2008, 2010-2017, and 2021-2024 at least and the DSL Rockies 1 in 2018-2019.
