Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Matt Pagnozzi is the nephew of former St. Louis Cardinals All-Star and Gold Glove catcher Tom Pagnozzi, the son of Tim Pagnozzi and the nephew of Mike Pagnozzi. He was one of two catchers to pitch in - and get the decision - in a Texas League contest on July 14, 2008. Pagnozzi threw 3 shutout innings in the second half of a doubleheader but allowed four runs in the 13th to the Tulsa Drillers; the winning pitcher was Brian Esposito, who was Pagnozzi's teammate on the 2007 Memphis Redbirds.
Pagnozzi made his major league debut late in the 2009 season for the Cardinals.
