Biographical Information[edit]
Matt Miller pitched in the minors and for Team Canada.
Miller signed with the Atlanta Braves out of college. He split 2000 between the GCL Braves (2 R in 5 IP) and Jamestown Jammers (0-2, Sv, 5.29 in 18 G). In '01, he was 2-4 with a save and a 3.15 ERA in 28 outings for Jamestown. Moving up to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, he was 2-2 with a save and a 4.84 ERA in 36 contests. He split '03 between the Pelicans (4 R in 5 IP) and the Trois-Rivières Saints (3-0, 2.05 in 7 G).
He pitched for Canada in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, allowing five hits, a walk and four runs (all earned) in 3 2/3 IP while fanning four; his three appearances tied Danny Prata for the most by one of their southpaws. [1] He went 2-1 with a 4.78 ERA for the 2004 Joliet Jackhammers and 1-2 with a save and a 6.21 ERA for the 2005 Calgary Vipers.
Matt had gone 4-8 with 3 saves and a 4.46 ERA in 89 games as a pro.
