Biographical Information[edit]

Prior to reaching the majors, Matt Miller pitched for two and a half seasons in the independent leagues with the Greenville Bluesmen. In 1997, he led the Big South League in wins (12), ERA (2.26), and strikeouts (129). He joined the Texas Rangers organization in 1998 and spent two and a half years in their farm system.

After stints in the San Diego Padres and Oakland Athletics organizations, Miller signed with the Colorado Rockies after the 2002 season and appeared in 4 games in the majors in 2003. He was signed by the Cleveland Indians in 2004 and made appearances in the Tribe's pen in each season from 2004 to 2007. He was acquired by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2008 and spend the first half of the season as a reliever with the AAA Indianapolis Indians but never made it back to the Show.
