Biographical Information[edit]
Matt Logan played in the minor leagues and for Team Canada.
Logan began his professional career with the Toronto Blue Jays organizationin 1998, and he hit .266/.363/.399 for the Medicine Hat Blue Jays in his first season. He had a .243/.293/.353 batting line with 9 homers for the Hagerstown Suns in 1999, and he represented Canada in the 1999 Pan American Games. He batted .263 and slugged .474 as Canada's main first baseman. They won Bronze, their first baseball medal in a Pan American Games. [1]
Logan then crushed 9 homers with a .279/.348/.426 batting line for the Dunedin Blue Jays in 2000, and he hit .206/.289/.354 for the Tennessee Smokies in 2001. He also represented Canada in the 2001 Baseball World Cup but was 0-for-12 with a walk and two errors. [2] Logan played 104 games with a .244/.313/.345 batting line for the Smokies in 2002, then he batted .268/.360/.351 with the New Haven Ravens in 2003. He recorded a .221/.307/.298 batting line for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats before he went to the Cincinnati Reds, and he hit .274/.342/.398 for the Potomac Cannons. That was his last season.
Overall, Logan hit .250/.324/.366 with 572 hits and 41 homers in 7 seasons in the minor leagues.
