Biographical Information[edit]

Matt Bragga has been a minor league infielder and college coach.

Bragga hit .329/?/.533 as a college junior at the University of Kentucky. [1] In 1994, he improved to .361 and slugged .557. [2] He hit .337/.404/.449 for the 1994 Butte Copper Kings with 47 runs and 48 RBI in 63 games; he played the corner infield, catcher and outfield but mostly DH'ed. In a hitter's league, he was still 8th in average (between Julio Mosquera and Terry Wright). [3] That earned him a contract with the Cincinnati Reds. He fell to .248/.328/.329 with the 1995 Charleston AlleyCats as a 1B/OF/DH.

From 1997-2000, he was head coach of Bevill State Community College. The team was 175-350 before he arrived and he went 148-86 there. [4] He was assistant coach at Birmingham Southern College from 2001-2003. He was head coach of Tennessee Technological University from 2004-2018, winning Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year four times and winning 446 games, second in school history. [5]

Rice University hired him as head coach for 2019. He was 51-76-1 in 3 seasons then was fired. [6] Bragga then joined Auburn University as director of player development in July 2021. In November of that year he returned to Tennessee Tech as head coach. [7]
