Biographical Information[edit]

Marty Maxwell played for Team Canada and in the minors.

Maxwell began his career with the 1972 Lethbridge Lakers, hitting .281. [1] He was with Lethbridge in 1973 as well. [2] He also played for Canada in the 1973 FEMBA Amateur World Series. [3] He played for Edmonton in 1975 and also represented Canada in the 1975 Pan American Games [4] and 1975 Intercontinental Cup, where he hit a two-run triple against Colombia. [5]

The Minnesota Twins signed him out of Washington State. He hit .266/.338/.480 with 9 homers in 53 games for the 1977 Orlando Twins; despite only spending part of the year with Orlando, he was third on the club in homers. In 1978, he batted .252/.327/.367 for Orlando, with ten outfield assists in ninety games and only two errors. He split 1979 between Orlando (.239/.283/.372 in 33 G) and Visalia Oaks (.333/.432/.656 in 26 G). In 217 games as a pro, he hit .264/.338/.432 and fielded .983 in the outfield, also playing all four infield positions and even pitching once.
