Marlon Cabrera was the youngest player on the Philippines national team at the 2001 Baseball World Cup, over a year younger than the next, Ernesto Binarao. He struck out against Shohei Tateyama his first at-bat and finished 0-for-7 with 5 whiffs. He fielded .828 and allowed 6 steals in 7 tries, backing up Wilfredo Hidalgo Jr. at C and Virgilio Roxas at 3B. He was one of two Marlon C.s on the team; Marlon Caspillo was also present. [1]
