Biographical Information[edit]

Marlison Brunken has been on the Curaçao national team.

He hit .296/.378/.480 his first year of junior college [1] and .307/.381/.479 as a sophomore [2]. He then transferred to McPherson College. [3]

Brunken pitched 2 2/3 shutout innings for Curaçao in the 2022 Caribbean Baseball Cup, pitching twice against Cuba. [4] They qualified for the Central American and Caribbean Games for the first time since becoming an independent political entity and a separate unit from the Netherlands Antilles national team. His first appearance in the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games came at a crucial spot against defending Gold Medalist Puerto Rico, relieving Sedley Karel in the 7th with two on, one out and a 2-2 tie. He plunked Kevin Luciano to load them up but recovered to retire former major leaguers Ozzie Martínez and Jesmuel Valentín. When his team scored in the bottom of the 7th, he got credit for the win (the games were 7 innings due to WBSC rules). His other outing came against Nicaragua; he got the start and went 3 2/3 IP, allowing 3 hits, two walks and one run (earned) while striking out one (Bismarck Rivera). Temesh Lourens relieved with a 3-1 lead but his bullpen could not make it hold up. [5]
