Mark Baca was a minor league outfielder who later was a scout.
Baca was taken by the California Angels in the 22nd round of the 1987 amateur draft. He split 1987 between the Salem Angels (1 for 4, 2B) and the Quad Cities Angels (.291/.390/.362 in 60 G). In 1988, he played for Quad Cities (.276/.337/.316 in 23 G) and the Palm Springs Angels (.254/.358/.290 in 44 G). Overall, he had batted .276/.369/.332 in 129 minor league games, with 64 runs, 37 RBI, 56 walks and 14 steals in 22 tries. He fielded .969 in the outfield.
Baca scouted for the Montréal Expos, Arizona Diamondbacks and Washington Nationals. He signed Matt Chico, Danny Espinosa, Wes Roemer, Sergio Santos, Daniel Stange, Stephen Strasburg and Brandon Watson.
