Marc Janssen
- Born January 28, 1959
Marc Janssen was a catcher in the Belgian First Division for many years, ending his career with the 2001 Antwerp Royal Greys. He played for the Belgian national team when they won Bronze Medals in the 1977 European Championship, 1983 European Championship and 1985 European Championship. In the 1978 Amateur World Series (their first global tournament), he was 2 for 9 with 4 walks while splitting the catching duties with Eric Kenis. He led the team's players in OBP among players with 4 or more plate appearances. He later managed and coached for the Borgerhout Squirrels. His son Tom Janssen and nephew?cousin?uncle? Steve Janssen (the Dutch word for nephew and cousin is the same - neef) also played for the Belgian national team.
