Biographical Information[edit]
Makizo Itoh pitched for five seasons in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Itoh started off in 1950 with the Tokyu Flyers, going 4-6 with a 7.03 ERA. On May 31st, he set the all-time NPB record by allowing 18 runs to the Mainichi Orions. Itoh had a 1-2, 6.80 record and a .305 opponent average in 1951. He allowed one run in two innings in 1952 and moved to the Hankyu Braves. He gave up seven runs in 10 innings in 1953, going 0-1. He wrapped up with the 1954 Braves with 6 runs (2 earned) in 2 1/3 innings, going 0-1 again. Overall, Itoh had a 5-10, 6.80 record in 44 games in NPB with 150 hits and 82 walks in 129 2/3 innings.
