Biographical Information[edit]

Máté Belle has been on the Hungarian national team.

He debuted at age 18 in the 2021 European Championship Qualifier, replacing Ádám Piros in right field in his lone game, against Ireland. He struck out against Mitchell Hillert and drew a walk from Patrick Mitchell. [1] During the 2022 European Championship Qualifier, he hit .300/.500/.300 with 4 walks in 5 games, starting in center as Hungary won a spot in the 2023 European Championship (their first European Championship). [2]

In the 2023 Euros, he debuted versus Great Britain, starting in right and hitting 9th. He struck out facing Matteo Sollecito and drew a walk from Tyler Sharples, coming around to score, in a mercy rule-shortened game. He finished the event 0-for-5 with the one walk and one run, handling three putouts. [3]
