Luis Paz has been a minor league player.
Paz was signed by Los Angeles Dodgers scouts Patrick Guerrero and Bob Engle in May 2013. He hit .161/.271/.203 for the DSL Dodgers that summer, allowing 18 steals in 19 tries and having 9 passed balls in 17 games. Moving to 1B the next year, he batted .193/.286/.249 for the same team, fielding .990. With the 2015 DSL Dodgers, he continued to progress at the plate - .270/.330/.376. He fielded .988 and led the team with six triples. He came stateside with the 2016 Ogden Raptors and produced at a .269/.316/.531 clip with 6 homers in 160 at-bats.
He was on the Brazilian national team for the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, splitting the catching with a player 20 years older, Luis de Camargo. He struggled, going 0 for 8 with a walk and a RBI. His walk came from Ihsan Ullah with the bases loaded to force in Carlos Garmendia in a 10-0 win over Pakistan.
