Biographical Information[edit]

Bob Engle has been a scout.

Engle was in the US Army in the mid-1960s, serving in Germany. In 1974, he was hired out of college as the midwest scouting supervisor of the Baltimore Orioles. In 1976, he became the Eastern Scouting Supervisor of the Toronto Blue Jays. He was promoted to Eastern Regional Scouting Director in 1982 and Scouting Director in 1990. He became assistant GM of the Jays in June 1995 and their Senior Advisor of Baseball Operations in February 1997. In 2000, he joined the Seattle Mariners as Senior Advisor to the VP & GM of Baseball Operations. In 2004, he became Seattle's Director of International Operations. From 2012-2015, he was the Los Angeles Dodgers' Vice President of International Scouting.
