Biographical Information[edit]

Carlos Garmendia was picked by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 19th round of the 2012 amateur draft after hitting .452 as a high school senior, but did not sign. In 2014, he was second team All-Conference after leading Broward Community College with 81 total bases. As a junior, he hit .276 for Rollins College, with a team-high 27 RBI.

After spending 2016 at Florida International University, he was a bench player for the Brazilian national team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. In the opener against Pakistan, he pinch-hit for DH Reinaldo Sato in the 7th and drew a walk from Ihsan Ullah. He scored on a bases-loaded walk from Luis Paz later in the frame. He also batted against Israel, pinch-hitting for Irait Chirino in the 8th with a 1-0 deficit. He struck out against Jeremy Bleich and stayed in the game in left field. He enrolled at Campbellsville University for 2017.
