Biographical Information

Logan Davidson is the son of major league OF Mark Davidson. Both father and son attended Clemson University - albeit 35 years apart.

An infielder, Logan was drafted with the 29th overall pick by the Oakland Athletics in the 2019 amateur draft. It was his second time being drafted, as he was taken in the 30th round of the 2016 amateur draft by the Philadelphia Phillies coming out of high school, although this was largely perfunctory as he already had a strong commitment to attend his father's alma mater. He had three solid seasons with the Tigers, with his .286 mark as a freshman being his lowest batting average, and reaching double figures in homers all three years. As a junior, he hit 15 long balls and 18 doubles in 61 games, both scoring and driving in 55 runs.

He began his professional career in 2019 with the Vermont Lake Monsters of the New York-Penn League, and hit .239/.345/.332 in 54 games, drawing 31 walks and scoring 42 runs as the team's regular shortstop. He then had to interrupt his professonal career momentarily as the minor leagues were shut down by the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020. He returned in 2021, lining up with the Midland RockHounds of the Double-A Central for 119 games, during which he played both shortstop and third base. He batted .212/.307/.313, with 62 walks but 155 strikeouts, a high total for a player who only hit 7 homers. he scored 53 runs and drove in 48. After the season, he played in the Arizona Fall League.
