Leo Tankersley played major league baseball in one game in 1925.
He was the first major league player with the last name Tankersley. Both Dennis Tankersley and Taylor Tankersley broke in after the year 2000.
Leo was born in Terrell, TX, east of Dallas. He was at Texas Christian University from 1923-25, at the same time as Tex Carleton. Ray Wolf was also there in 1925.
Leo came to the majors very quickly, playing his game on July 2, 1925 for 1925 White Sox manager Eddie Collins. The game was in St. Louis against the 1925 St. Louis Browns.
He also lettered in football at TCU.
