Leo Germán has played in the minors and for the Mexican national team.
He debuted with the 2013 Sultanes de Monterrey, hitting .246/.290/.368 as a backup at all three outfield spots; he had 48 putouts, 4 assists and no errors. In his winter debut, he was 1 for 9 with a walk and 3 runs for the 2013-2014 Águilas de Mexicali. In the summer of '14, he batted .230/.297/.320 for Monterrey followed by a .158/.250/.158 winter for Mexicali. He remained a bench player in 2015, his batting line falling to .200/.289/.271, though he went 7-for-8 in steal attempts. That winter, he became a starter and produced at a .275/.313/.327 clip but was not stealing as well (8 SB, 9 CS).
His offensive continued to improve with the 2016 Sultanes (.317/.358/.486 in 155 PA over 81 G) though he fell to .163/.255/.163 in the winter. In 2017, he batted .314/.358/.364 for Monterrey and stole 24 bases in 33 tries. He fielded .995 and had 10 outfield assists. He tied Dustin Martin for 5th in the Mexican League in swipes. In the winter, he hit .328/.361/.432 for Mexicali. Had he qualified, he would have been 4th in the Mexican Pacific League in average. The 2018 Mexican League split into spring and fall schedules. He hit .280/.337/.391 in the fall season and .260/.275/.340 in the spring. Despite a rough winter (.178/.200/.178), he made Mexico's squad for the 2019 Pan American Games Qualifiers. As Mexico's main leadoff man, he did very well at .364/.333/.909 with 3 doubles, a homer, four runs and four RBI in three games, though the team fell shy of a spot in the 2019 Pan American Games. He tied Tiago Magalhães and Sergio Perez for 9th in the event in average and tied Elmer Reyes for 2nd in doubles (one behind ex-major leaguer Ronny Paulino). Slugging leaders were not listed, but of the players on the batting average leaderboard, only Garabez Rosa and Christian Correa had higher slugging percentages.
