Lars Anderson was signed by the Boston Red Sox and scout Blair Henry as the 18th round pick in the 2006 amateur draft. He made his major league debut late in the 2010 season. He had brief cups of coffee with the Sox again in 2011 and 2012 before being traded to the Cleveland Indians for minor leaguer Steven Wright on July 31, 2012. He never played for the Indians in the majors and on December 11th was traded again, this time to the Arizona Diamondbacks alongside shortstop Didi Gregorius and pitcher Tony Sipp in return for pitchers Matt Albers, Trevor Bauer and Bryan Shaw. He became a baseball traveler thereafter, seeing time in Japan, Australia and Germany in addition to time in the States.
