Larry Pyle was an All-American outfielder in 1969. The New York Yankees made him the second pick in the 1969 secondary draft, following Wayne Garland. He debuted at AA and hit .230/.303/.352 in 73 games for the Manchester Yankees. He split 1970 between Manchester (.222/.357/.346 in 47 G) and the Kinston Eagles (.248/.401/.362 in 42 G). Back with Manchester for a third and final try, the former Hurricanes star batted .238/.337/.409 with 11 home runs in 94 games.
