Biographical Information[edit]
Larry Gallo was a college coach. He was assistant coach at Rhode Island from 1974-1979 then was head coach of the University of Notre Dame from 1980-1987. He went 157-167-3 and coached Dan Peltier and Tommy Shields. He also coached for the Cotuit Kettleers in the Cape Cod League, where he worked with Will Clark, Greg Vaughn, Joe Girardi, Terry Steinbach, Ruben Amaro Jr., Ken Howell, Derek Lilliquist and Chris Carpenter.
He was assistant coach at Wake Forest University from 1987-1990 then was associate athletic director there from 1990-1995. In 1997, he became executive associate athletic director at the University of North Carolina.
