Biographical Information[edit]
Kyron Bibis attended the first MLB African Academy in 2011. He made his South African national team debut as a pinch-runner for Shannon Ekermans in an opening win over New Zealand in the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. He was a substitute center fielder in the second game. After coming off the bench in their first three games, he started the finale against Australia, hitting 9th and playing center. In the second inning, he grounded out against Travis Blackley, then struck out against him in the 5th. Kyle Ettisch pinch-hit for him in the 7th.
Bibis played for South Africa when they won the 2019 Africa Cup Baseball Championship, hitting .360/.500/.455. In the 2019 Europe/Africa Olympic Qualifier, he was 0 for 7.
