Biographical Information[edit]

Kyle Soberano has been on the Philippines national team.

He hit .364/.462/.393 as a high school senior, .244/.306/.267 as a college freshman at the University of the Pacific and .246 as a sophomore at College of the Canyons. [1] Transferring to Illinois State, he was 5 for 26 with a walk and 30 error-free chances in the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season. He batted .284/.381/.385 in 2021, fielding .986, and .226/.331/.287 in 2022, fielding .970. [2] He was the lone Filipino-American on the Philippines' baseball team in the 2022 Asian Games. [3] He debuted against Japan, playing second and hitting second. He struck out against Makoto Hori and Mizuki Kato then Harper Sy took over for him. His first hit came against Laos. Pinch-hitting for Adriane Ros Bernardo, he singled off Mung Chuevakham and came around to score on a Mark Beronilla grounder later in the inning. He finished the Games 2-for-9 with a walk, two steals, a run and a RBI while handling nine chances error-free in a utility role (2B, SS, RF, CF). He tied for 10th in the Games in swipes. [4]
