Biographical Information

Kye-won Park has been an infielder and coach in the Korea Baseball Organization.

Park was 3 for 12 with a double and a steal as a backup corner infielder for South Korea in the 1990 Baseball World Cup; his team won the Bronze Medal. He made his pro debut with the Lotte Giants in 1992, hitting .243/.321/.370 with five triples; he was named the best shortstop in the league. He moved to 2B in 1993 with Min-jae Kim becoming the starter at SS; he hit .263/.316/.332 with 17 steals in 27 tries that year. As Lotte's third baseman in 1994, he batted .260/.325/.327. He did not play the next two seasons, presumably due to military service.

Park returned in 1997, hitting only .218/.292/.257 while manning 2B for Lotte. He hit .219/.267/.278 in 1998, during which he was traded to the Ssangbangwool Raiders for Dong-soo Lee. He split 1999 between the Raiders and the Haitai Tigers, putting up a .252/.324/.344 line, but hit only .198/.250/.272 between Haitai and the SK Wyverns in 2000. He was 5 for 20 with a double, two walks and seven steals for SK in 2001 and had one run and no at-bats in three games for them in 2002.

In 2004-2005, Park coached for SK. He moved to Lotte as a coach in 2006 and was still with them as of 2013.
