Biographical Information[edit]

Kurt Bogott pitched in the minor leagues and the TML.

Bogott was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 11th round of the 1993 Amateur Draft, and he was 1-7 with a 4.45 ERA for the Utica Blue Sox while having a 1.80 ERA jn 3 games for the GCL Red Sox in his first season. His ERA was 0.66 in 3 games in GCL in 1994, but he slumped to 2-3 with a 6.15 ERA for the Lynchburg Red Sox. Bogott then recorded a 3.05 ERA in 41 appearances for the Sarasota Red Sox in 1995, and he pitched 2 games with a 2.70 ERA for the Trenton Thunder. The Toronto Blue Jays then selected him in the 1995 Rule V Draft.

After changing team, Bogott had a solid 1.78 ERA in 19 games for the Dunedin Blue Jays in 1996, but his ERA rose to 5.33 in 33 games for the Knoxville Smokies. He improved to a 3.90 ERA in 35 games for the Smokies in 1997, and he struggled with the AAA Syracuse SkyChiefs as his ERA was 7.89 in 16 games. Bogott only pitched 3 games in Dunedin due to injuries in 1998, and he was 8-6 with a 4.62 ERA for the SkyChiefs in 1999. He recorded a 4.01 ERA in 20 appearances in 2000, then he left the Blue Jays chain in June. The Chianan Luka signed him, and Bogott had a 6.00 ERA in 7 games in 2000 TML. The 2000 season was his last season as a professional player.
