Biographical Information[edit]

Kuo-Long Hsu played in the CPBL for 8 years. His brother Kuo-Hui Hsu played in the TML.

Hsu represented Taiwan in the 2002 Haarlemse Honkbalweek, 2002 World University Championship (hitting .286/.333/.393 and playing error-free ball at 1B) and 2004 World University Championship. He was drafted by the Sinon Bulls in the 3rd round of the 2003 CPBL Draft. Hsu batted .266/.304/.404 with a career-high 10 homers in 2005, won the CPBL Gold Glove and participated in the All-Star Game as a rookie. In the 2005 Taiwan Series, Hsu batted .375/.444/.750 and crushed a home run off Chi-Chia Yang. The Bulls swept the Macoto Cobras and Hsu won his only Taiwan Series Title of his career. He only hit .262/.304/.371 in the next year, but bounced back soon. 2007 was Hsu's career year; he recorded a .304/.342/.429 batting line with 7 dingers, and was selected into the All-Star Game for the third year in a row. Hsu suffered a right foot injury and only played 72 and 40 games respectively in the next two years. Hsu came back in 2010, hit .289/.324/.389 and participated in the All-Star Game again. He batted .300/.336/.392 in 2011, and announced his retirement after playing only 44 games in 2012. Hsu became the batting coach for the Bulls' minor league team from 2014 to 2018, and coached the Mai Liao High School from 2021 to 2022.

Overall, Hsu had hit .282/.318/.391 in eight seasons in the CPBL.
