Biographical Information[edit]

Chi-Chia Yang pitched in the CPBL and TML for 7 years.

Yang was drafted by the Chianan Luka in the first round of the 2001 TML draft, but he was 0-6 with a 9.11 ERA. He then improved to 3-10 with a 4.19 ERA in 2002. When the two leagues merged in 2003, Yang was assigned to the Macoto Cobras, and he was 7-10 with a 5.19 ERA in the 2003 CPBL. He led the league in walks, and he was 5th in losses (3 behind Gabriel Ozuna and Shih-Chin Tsai). Yang was 6-4 with a 4.20 ERA in 2004.

The Taoyuan native had his career year in 2005, having a 3-5 record with a 2.97 ERA in 20 games. He was the starter of the2005 Taiwan Series Game 3, but he allowed 9 runs in 3 2/3 innings and Chien-Fu Yang beat him. The Cobras were swept by the Sinon Bulls. Yang was 4-5 with a 4.53 ERA in 2006, but he slumped to a 8.36 ERA in 36 relief outings in 2007. The Cobras released him after the 2007 season, and his professional career ended.

Yang's repertoire included a fastball (peak 91.3 mph), slider, knuckle curve and forkball.

Overall, Yang was 24-40 with a 5.08 ERA, struck out 362 and pitched 615 innings in 7 seasons in the CPBL and TML.
