Biographical Information[edit]
Kunio Takesue played in the industrial leagues in Japan. He was on the Japanese national team in the 1980 Amateur World Series (winning Bronze), 1981 Intercontinental Cup and 1982 Amateur World Series (winning Silver). He led the 1982 Series with four homers and 18 RBI and was the All-Star DH. After his playing career ended, he coached for Kokushikan University (1992-2005) then was a Yokohama BayStars scout (2007-2021), signing Yasuaki Yamasaki, Shota Imanaga, Tatsuhiro Shibata and Taishi Kusumoto among others.
