Biographical Information[edit]

Koshiro Wada has played in Nippon Pro Baseball and once led the league in steals.

Wada joined the Toyama GRN Thunderbirds of the Baseball Challenge League after he graduated from high school. The Chiba Lotte Marines then drafted him in the first round in the development phase of the 2017 NPB draft.[1] He spent the first two seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues, then debuted on June 19, 2020. Wasa was mainly used as pinch-runner, and he stole 23 bags while he just had 59 at-bats in his rookie year.

The speedy outfielder didn't change his role in 2021, and secured the main pinch-runner spot of the Marines. He played 96 games, recorded 24 stelas and tied Takashi Ogino, Sosuke Genda and Haruki Nishikawa to lead the Pacific League in stolen bases. Wada only had 24-at-bats in this year, and he broke the NPB record for less at-bats needed to led the league in steals (Shosei Go set that record with 93 at-bats in 1944).[2] He struggled in 2022 with a .179/.281/.214 batting line and 11 steals.
