Baseball Challenge League

The Baseball Challenge League is an independent professional baseball league in the north central region of Japan. The League initially consisted of 4 teams, and has expanded and then contracted to 8 teams.

The League was founded in 2006 and began playing in the 2007 season. Felix Brown, Henry Centeno, José De Paula, Mitch Dening, Nao Fukuda, Frédéric Hanvi, Masahiro Inui, Alessandro Maestri, Brandon Mann, Kazuaki Minami, Kento Onodera, Alex Ramirez, Hiroki Sanada,Yoshinori Sato, Shepherd Sibanda, Jakub Sládek, Kenjiro Sugiura, Shunsuke Suzuki, Hayato Takagi, Shingo Takatsu, Ryutaro Tsuji, Kensuke Uchimura, Kai-Cheng Wang, Kohei Wong, Yudai Yamamoto and Atsuki Yuasa have played here. In 2015, former major league star Julio Franco was hired to be a player/manager at age 56.
