Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Kody Eaves was a 16th round selection by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 2012 amateur draft. He began his pro career that year with the AZL Angels of the Arizona League hitting.261 in 42 games as the team's regular second baseman. In 2013, he hit .277/.326/.386 in 67 games with the Orem Owlz of the Pioneer League. He played in full season Class A ball for the first time in 2014, when he got into 130 games for the Burlington Bees of the Midwest League. He hit .268/.308/.415 with 37 doubles, 7 triples and 10 homers and also scored 74 runs. In 2015, he was with the Inland Empire 66ers, where his batting line fell a bit, to .248/.308/.387. He continued to show good power, with 17 doubles, 11 triples and 11 homers, scoring 70 runs and driving in 71. He also played a position other than second base for the first time (except for one game at shortstop in his first pro season), as he was at third base for 20 contests.

On January 27, 2016, he was traded to the Detroit Tigers in return for Jefry Marte.
