Biographical Information[edit]
Kevin Castleberry played in the minor leagues and CPBL.
Castleberry was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 12th round of the 1987 Amateur Draft, but he refused to sign. The Atlanta Braves then took him in the third round of the 1989 Amateur Draft, and he hit .246/.305/.295 in his first season for the Burlington Braves. He hit .242/.288/.368 with 7 homers in 1990 for the Durham Bulls, then the Braves traded him to the Chicago White Sox for Danny Heep. Castleberry had a .272/.370/.364 batting line in 1991 with the Sarasota White Sox, and he hit .286/.383/.327 in 24 games for them in 1992 before he was promoted to AA. He played 104 games with a .257/.343/.322 batting line for the Birmingham Barons in that season.
Moving to the Milwaukee Brewers system in 1993, Castleberry hit .300/.352/.376 with 13 swipes for the El Paso Diablos. He had a .275/.350/.375 batting line for the Diablos in 1994, then he signed a minor league contract with the Montreal Expos in 1995. Castleberry had a .294/.368/.404 batting line with 7 homers for the AAA Ottawa Lynx in 1995, then he batted .280/.347/.399 in 1996. He then went to the Texas Rangers, and he played 40 games with a .270/.322/.369 batting line in 1997 for the Oklahoma City 89ers. The Sinon Bulls of the CPBL signed him in 1997, and Castleberry played 44 games with a .327/.390/.431 batting line. His last season was with the Chicago Cubs, and he batted .285/.366/.378 for the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx while hitting .327/.383/.455 with the AAA Iowa Cubs.
