Biographical Information

Kento Onodera pitched in the CPBL and Japanese independent leagues.

Onodera was signed by the Saitama Musashi Heat Bears of the Baseball Challenge League in 2021, and he had a 0.90 ERA in 14 appearances. He won the ERA title of the BC League South region in 2022 with 1.65, and he led the league in wins, strikeouts and innings pitched in 2023. The TSG Hawks of the CPBL then signed him as a test foreign player for the Asia Winter League. Onodera pitched 8 2/3 innings with only a run allowed in the finale, and he won a contract in 2024. He made his CPBL debut on April 5 against the CTBC Brothers, but he surrendered 5 runs in 4 2/3 innings and Chi-Ling Hsu got the win over him.
