Biographical Information[edit]

Chi-Ling Hsu pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.

Hsu represented Taiwan in the 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup, but he didn't pitch any games in that event. The Philadelphia Phillies signed him on July 12, 2018 (the scout was Chin-Yong Wang). He debuted with the GCL Phillies East in 2019, but he only pitched 2/3 of an inning due to right elbow injury. After the coronavirus shut down the minor leagues in 2020, Hsu had a 4.85 ERA in 7 games with the FCL Phillies, and he pitched 2 games with a 3.38 ERA for the Clearwater Threshers. He also represented Taiwan in the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup. However, the Phillies released him after the 2021 season, and he returned to his hometown Taiwan.

The CTBC Brothers selected him in the second round of the 2022 CPBL Draft, and he represented Taiwan in the 2022 U-23 Baseball World Cup. He recorded a 6.75 ERA in 10 relief outings in 2023, and he entered the rotation in 2024. He started against the TSG Hawks on April 4, and he allowed a solo shot to Po-Jung Wang in 5 innings and got his first win in the CPBL.

Hsu's repertoire includes a fastball (peak 93 mph), sinker, slider and changeup.
