Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Kenny Greer played briefly in the majors with the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants.

Selected by the New York Yankees in the 10th round of the 1988 amateur draft, Greer played six seasons in their organization before being traded to the Mets for Frank Tanana late in the 1993 season. Less than two weeks later, he made his big league debut, throwing a 1-2-3 inning of relief against the St. Louis Cardinals and earning the win in his only major league outing with the club.

After spending 1994 in the minors, Greer became a free agent and signed with the Giants. He spent most of 1995 with the AAA Phoenix Firebirds but made 8 relief appearances for San Francisco, going 0-2 with a 5.25 ERA. Released after the season, he later played in the minors in the Pittsburgh Pirates and Baltimore Orioles chains.
