Biographical Information[edit]

Kenen Irizarry has played in the minors and for the Puerto Rican national team.

The Texas Rangers took him in the 13th round of the 2018 amateur draft; he was scouted by Cliff Terracuso. [1] He hit .195/.320/.268 as a backup second baseman for the 2018 AZL Rangers, playing no errors. Moving up to the Spokane Indians, he improved to .253/.342/.391 in 2019. The 2020 minor league season was wiped out by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the 2020-2021 Puerto Rican League, he batted .208/.250/.302 for RA12.

In 2021, he appeared for the ACL Rangers (.228/.317/.325 in 44 G) and Hickory Crawdads (.167/.200/.191 in 17 G). He hit .235/.311/.303 for RA12 that winter but fielded .866 at third base. Out of the Rangers chain, he signed with the Lake Erie Crushers in 2022, producing at a .287/.376/.445 clip. He followed with a .250/.309/.367 winter. He spent most of 2023 with Lake Erie (.239/.315/.347) and also played for Puerto Rico in the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, flying out against Brayan Salaya his first time up. He was 5-for-9 with a RBI the rest of the Games, finishing second in average (.111 behind Fernando Villegas Jr.). [2] In the 2023 Caribbean Baseball Cup, he was 1 for 5 with a run. [3]

Irizarry batted .229/.277/.312 for RA12 in 2023-2024.
