Biographical Information[edit]
Kelvin González has pitched in the minors and for the Dominican national team.
He was signed by Kansas City Royals scout Fausto Morel. [1] He was 1-0 with a 5.06 ERA for the 2016 DSL Royals. In '17, he was with the DSL Royals (4-1, 2 Sv, 0.36 in 9 G) and AZL Royals (0-2, 7.02 in 7 G). He began 2018 with the Burlington Royals (0-2, Sv, 4.19) then was dealt to the Texas Rangers for future considerations. [2] He spent the rest of the year with the AZL Rangers (1 IP, 0 R) and Spokane Indians (4 R, 3 ER in 2 IP).
He was excellent in 2019 with the Hickory Crawdads (6-2, 5 Sv, 1.99 in 28 G, .95 WHIP, 58 K in 45 1/3 IP). He was a bright spot for the Dominicans in the 2019 Premier 12, shutting down Team USA for two innings in a 10-8 loss after their first four pitchers had given up 9 runs in 5 innings. Relieving Carlos Pimentel in the 6th, he went 1-2-3 against Mark Payton, Jo Adell and Daulton Varsho. He struck out Bobby Dalbec, Jake Cronenworth and Alec Bohm in the 7th with only a one-out walk to Andrew Vaughn to blemish his mark. [3]
