Biographical Information

Starting pitcher Carlos Pimentel has played in the minor leagues since 2007, beginning his career in the Texas Rangers system.

He has had a few seasons of note to date. In 2008, with the Spokane Indians, he was 6-3 with a 3.31 ERA in 16 games (13 starts). The next year, with the Hickory Crawdads, he went 5-4 with a 2.93 ERA in 28 games (14 starts). With the Frisco RoughRiders in 2012, he went 8-3 with a 2.55 ERA in 35 games (8 starts).

The Rangers granted him free agency following the 2013 season and he signed with the Chicago Cubs. He began the 2014 campaign with their Triple-A team, the Iowa Cubs.
