Biographical Information[edit]

Keisuke Katto has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Katto was a MVP in college. The Daiei Hawks took him in the fourth round of the 2005 NPB draft. He made his debut with the big club in 2007, retiring all three batters he faced. He was 0-1 with a 4.82 ERA in 9 games in 2008 and allowed three runs in 6 2/3 IP in 2009. Katto became a regular member of the Hawks bullpen in 2010, going 2-0 with a 2.96 ERA in 65 games. He tied Yoshihiro Ito for second in the Pacific League in appearances on the hill, behind Tadashi Settsu. He also tied Bobby Keppel, Darrell Rasner and Hideaki Wakui for fourth in the PL with 9 hit batsmen. Katto nearly became the second straight Hawks middle reliever to be named Rookie of the Year (following Settsu), as he was second in voting for the 2010 Pacific League Rookie of the Year Award. His 50 votes only trailed Ryo Sakakibara's 84.

He throws a slider, shuuto, cutter, curveball and fastball (peak of 94 mph).
