Biographical Information

Yoshihiro Ito has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

After college, Ito played for Japan Rail Tokai in the industrial leagues. The Chiba Lotte Marines took him in the 4th round in the 2007 NPB draft. He pitched 51 games as a rookie in 2008 with no saves or decisions but a 3.05 ERA. He fell to 2-6, 4.55 in 2009. In 65 outings in 2010, the right-hander was 1-2 with a save, 3.48 ERA and 65 whiffs in 64 2/3 IP. He tied Keisuke Katto for second in the Pacific League in games pitched, behind Tadashi Settsu.

Ito has been timed at 95 mph.
