Biographical Information[edit]

'Kazuyuki Maeda pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.

Maeda represented Japan in the 1997 Asian Championship. The Orix BlueWave drafted him in the second round of the 1997 NPB draft. He pitched 30 innings with a 4.20 ERA in 1998, but then spent the next two seasons in the NPB Farm League. The BlueWave traded him with Hirofumi Ogawa, Yu Sugimototo the Yokohama BayStars for Tatsuya Shindo, Kiyoshi Arai and Hisashi Tokano in 2000. Maeda only pitched 8 games combined in the next two seasons, then the BayStars traded him to the Seibu Lions for Yui Tomori in 2002. Maeda allowed 12 runs in just 19 2/3 innings pitched in 2003, and he only had 7 appearances in 2004. The Lions released him after the 2004 season, which ended his career.

Overall, Maeda was 3-5 with a 6.06 ERA and pitched 68 1/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
