Biographical Information[edit]

Kasey Caras has played in Italy and for the Greek national team.

He hit .262/.343/.312 as a freshman at Messiah then was 3-for-13 with a double in the COVID-19-shortened 2020. He improved to .381/.441/.794 with 10 homers and 29 RBI in 27 games in 2021, stealing 10 bases in 11 tries, nad batted .347/.465/.592 with 15 doubles and 37 RBI in 40 contests in '22 (stealing 14 in 16 attempts). He came to Richmond as a graduate student transfer, going 2-for-20 with 3 walks.

Caras then joined Settimo in Italy, batting .429/.536/.662 with 25 RBI in 22 games in 2023. He led the league with 7 triples and was 5th in both OBP and slugging. [1] Playing for "Greece" in the 2023 European Championship (a team, like usual, of players of Greek descent), he was their starting right fielder. In his debut, he batted 6th. After his first five teammates were retired by Orlando Rodriguez, he homered for their only run against champion Spain. He also went yard off Austria's Eoghan McGarry and finished at .304/.385/.652 with 7 runs and 6 RBI in 6 games. He had 11 putouts, one assist and no errors in right. He tied for 6th in the Euros in dingers and tied Antonio Torres-Skerrett for the Greek lead in runs, led in slugging, was second to Michael Dudunakis in OPS and had half the team's homers. [2]
